My work is grounded in a genuine appreciation for New Zealand’s landscapes and the way people live within them. To me, good architecture works with the land rather than against it.
Having spent much of my life exploring and living in natural settings, I’ve developed a close understanding of the forces that shape a site — from sun, wind and weather to topography, outdoor comfort, and ecology. I look for ways these characteristics can become opportunities rather than constraints, shaping homes that respond naturally to their setting and make the most of what each site has to offer.
With more than 10 years’ experience in bespoke residential architecture, alongside qualifications in both architecture and landscape architecture, I bring together thoughtful site response, passive design, natural materials and environmental performance.
First-hand experience with construction and making also keeps my work grounded in how buildings are actually built, used and lived in.
The result is considered, enduring architecture that belongs to its place and strengthens the connection between people and the landscape.
