This compact home was designed as a response to the unique way New Zealanders live - closely connected to nature, climate, and the outdoors.
The a modest footprint of less than 70m² to enable construction without building consent, the design prioritises smart layout, comfort, and flexibility, creating a home that feels far larger than its physical size.
Natural materials, strong indoor-outdoor connections, and careful environmental design combine to create a contemporary dwelling that is both practical and deeply connected to its surroundings. The result is a simple, durable, and affordable home that demonstrates how living well does not require excessive space.
